ISM University of Management and Economics has become the first university in Lithuania to receive the highest recognition from the international ranking agency Eduniversal – five out of five Palmes of Excellence. This acknowledgment marks an important milestone in the university’s history and reinforces its position among the strongest business schools in the world.

The international ranking agency Eduniversal evaluates more than a thousand business and management universities from 153 countries each year. The assessment is based on three main criteria – academic reputation, internationalisation, and impact on society.

The highest Eduniversal distinction, five Palmes of Excellence, is awarded to only one hundred of the strongest business schools globally, among them well-known names such as HEC Paris, London Business School, and Copenhagen Business School. Until now, ISM University had been the only educational institution in Lithuania holding four Palmes. This recognition reflected a high level of internationalisation and significant regional impact, while entry into the five-Palme category places the university in a global context, among institutions that influence not only their region but also the broader international academic and business community.

“This recognition is more than a symbolic achievement. It shows that the direction we have chosen is the right one and that consistent work delivers results. In recent years we have invested heavily in quality, strengthened internationalisation and academic partnerships, and sought to ensure that our research creates value not only nationally but also internationally. Four Eduniversal Palmes enabled ISM to establish itself among the regional leaders, and now, entering the five-Palme category, we become part of a network of the world’s strongest business schools – those that influence not only their country but also the global academic and business community,” says ISM Rector Dr. Dalius Misiūnas.

He adds that this recognition coincided with a significant date – the university’s 26th anniversary. According to him, it symbolically marked several decades of consistent growth.

“Over these years the university has changed, but one thing has remained – the commitment to steady growth and strengthening. Such results show that purposeful work and community unity make it possible to reach the highest standards,” notes Dalius Misiūnas.

For ISM University, this is the second major international recognition in recent years. In spring, ISM became the first university in the Baltic States to receive the prestigious AACSB accreditation. Only 6% of the world’s top business schools hold this accreditation.
