Here you will find guidelines for the use of the APA style in the academic work of the ISM, which will help you to prepare your written assignments correctly. The APA formatting and citation style is commonly used in business, communication, psychology, and other sciences. It defines the basic formatting, citation, and lists requirements for academic written work, which must be fulfilled in all kinds of assignments prepared at ISM University.

Academic writing – APA Style

Academic writing is a particular kind of writing in which certain principles need to be followed. There are several major areas of academic writing, which students need to master:

1. General writing style – grammar, clarity, readability, and bias-free writing
2. Text and document formatting requirements
3. Attribution of sources – citing and referencing works of other authors published in journals, books, online portals, on company websites, etc.

The 7th edition of the APA Style provides guidance on all three areas of academic writing listed above. ISM University of Management and Economics requires students to follow the style, except for a few minor differences in formatting, which you will find provided in your Final Thesis Requirements document.
