Pranas Šmaižys

Pranas Šmaižys is a PhD student at the Doctoral Programme in Management, ISM University of Management and Economics. He holds a MSc degree in International Business Economics from Aalborg University in Denmark and has also received a diploma (cum laude) on completing five-year studies in Business Management at Vilnius University in Lithuania.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Pranas has gained extensive working experience by assuming different level of management roles in companies or organisations engaged in management consulting, mobile telecommunications, retail sales, higher education and manufacturing sectors. He currently works as HR director for a food manufacturing company in Lithuania.

Broadly speaking, Pranas’ research areas focus on managing organisational change and understanding the role of line managers in this respect. More specifically, he investigates line managers’ influence on building agile organisations. His research aims at learning from actual experiences at organisations in order to identify how line managers contribute to organisational agility practices, and how such contribution can be measured as well as improved for facilitating the continued organisational agility development efforts.
