Associate professor dr. Alfredas Chmieliauskas’ teaching and research interests include project, program and portfolio management, as well as strategy and change management. He is expert of Project Management Program at ISM  Executive School, a founding president of Lithuanian Project Management Association. Alfredas also is a certified trainer of NISPAcee, Network of Institutions and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe. So far he has worked on more than 200 training and consulting assignments for businesses and governments in Lithuania and abroad.
Alfredas constantly serves on national and international governmental bodies and ad hoc expert teams dealing with strategic issues of higher education and research. This includes his past memberships in National Higher Education Board, Council of Science and Research of Lithuania, Domain Committee on Individuals, Societies, Cultures and Health (EU COST program), etc. Currently he is an expert advisor of Research Council of Lithuania, and a member of a group established by the Prime Minister of Lithuania for optimizing the national university network.
Nevertheless, when higher education is concerned, he still considers establishing ISM University of Management and Economics in 1999 (as well as its predecessor – Business Training Center – in 1995) his favorite project that he was given a chance to actively take part in, initially as a Director of Academic Programs, and later as Vice President and Chairman of the Senate (until 2008).
Alfredas loves teaching to students and he hopes this love is not unrequited.
