Visa procedure
We recommend international applicants to contact the Lithuanian Embassy as soon as possible to learn about visa requirements and procedures.

Visa requirements. Not required for EU and EEA citizens. Non-EU citizens need to get a National visa D.
Temporary Residence permit (TRP). Second step for non-EU citizens is that they need to apply for a temporary residence permit if they plan to stay in Lithuania for a longer period than a year. Students have to apply for the Temporary Residence Permits at the migration authorities in Lithuania after their arrival to Lithuania.
Temporary Residence Certificate confirming the right to reside in the Republic of Lithuania. EU and EEA citizens need to apply for a certificate signifying the right to temporarily reside in Lithuania. Students have to register their residence if they stay in Lithuania for more than 3 months in a 6-month period. Students have to apply for the mentioned certificate at the migration authorities in Lithuania.
