European Foundation for Management Development
The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is an international organisation with more than 600 members in the fields of academia, business, public service, and consultancy in 65 countries. Over 400 business schools are involved in the international network, which provides a unique forum for information, research, networking and debate on innovation and practice in management development.
EFMD offers a variety of networking services for business schools and executive education centres. Special events are organised for deans and directors general, MBA programme directors, and external relations, marketing, or alumni affairs heads. EFMD awards EQUIS (the European Quality Improvement System) accreditation, which is the leading international system of assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions involved in teaching management and business administration. Ninety-two institutions have been awarded EQUIS, with 28 countries represented among the accredited schools. The fundamental objective of EQUIS is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.
