The Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA),
established at the end of 2002, was the initiative of universities and business schools, as well as individuals: professors of management sciences and business professionals from the Baltic countries. Although it is young, the BMDA currently includes 53 members from 15 countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, Russia, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, Georgia, Germany, Belgium and Austria – and is successfully developing, expanding and pursuing ambitious plans, objectives and ideas that have been met with many responses and a large amount of interest and demand throughout the entire Baltic Sea region.
The main objectives of BMDA are:
• to promote understanding of modern management
• to promote development and coordination of legislative acts on a national, regional and international scale;
• to promote high educational standards in management education;
• to promote cooperation between the academic and the business environment in the area of management;
• to represent Association members and their professional interests in public institutions;
• to act as a discussion forum for Association members, promoting the exchange of academic and professional information and knowledge;
In achieving these goals, BMDA organizes annual conferences, round-table discussions and other international events to share experiences, new ideas and insights.
