Library Rules

With a view to ensuring the smooth work of the ISM library, we invite you to become familiar with the main rules that every reader is obliged to know.

You can find complete ISM Library Rules of Procedure here.

Lending of Books
• Books shall be issued to students upon submission of a student card or a reader’s card, to staff – upon submission of an employee certificate, to guests – upon submission of a passport, an employee certificate or a student card.
• Textbooks shall be lent for one semester; one textbook for one or two students. The book shall be registered under one student’s name, thus it is recommended that colleagues who share one textbook exchange contact information.
• Other books shall be lent for two weeks; the lending period may be renewed on the Internet (www.ism.lt – Library – Find Books).

Fees for Overdue Books
With a view to ensuring that all books are returned on time and can be borrowed by as many readers as possible, overdue books shall be imposed a fee:
• If the books are not returned on time, readers shall pay a fee of LTL 0.50 for each item for each overdue day.
• Fee for overdue books shall accumulate and be summed up for each overdue day.
• If the amount of the fee exceeds LTL 10, lending of publications shall be discontinued until all fees are paid.
• Upon receiving a receipt with an indicated sum from a librarian, the reader transfers the money to the ISM account and submits a confirmation of payment to the library.
• The settlement form of graduates or students who have terminated their studies shall be signed only if there are no debts to the library (overdue items or unpaid fees).
